Pillow Talk

They are screenwriters, directors, and lovers. Their most beautiful creation? Their daughter, Anna. With busy days and travel schedules, their nights and morning routines are precious. Welcome to the world of Lien Willaert and Jan Verheyen, devoted fans of Magnitude's Eden bed since its very beginning.

Glorious Eden

"I first saw the Eden bed at Interieur, and I absolutely loved it," Lien recalls. "It stood there in all its glory: impressively large, with that beautiful cushion-shaped headboard." Jan adds, "A fantastic idea. It’s amazing no one had thought of it before."

Still fans of linen

Beyond the design, the bedding immediately won them over. "The linen was wonderfully soft and incredibly pleasant," says Lien. "Nowadays, you see linen more often, but back then, it was rare." They prefer satin for the fitted sheet, but otherwise, linen remains their favorite. Even after ten years, they are still devoted fans.

A practical design bed

The Eden bed also has practical benefits. "It’s a fairytale-like design bed, but what we love most is its size," says Jan. "Extra wide and extra long – we believe that ‘size matters’" (he laughs heartily). The bed has forever changed their standards. "Even a king-size bed in a hotel now feels small. At home, we can cuddle up or stretch out completely – pure bliss."

Jan Verheyen, director

"Eden gives us extra length and width – it’s heavenly! A king-size bed now feels small to us..."

Early bird

Jan is the early riser in the household. "I usually wake up before the alarm and can start my day immediately. I often sing, much to the annoyance of my family, because I can’t sing at all..." (he laughs). Lien used to be a night owl but now wakes up earlier as well. "Sometimes I fall asleep on the couch, but once I finally go to bed, I stay awake for a while with a book."

Never go to bed upset

When it comes to sleep, they have their own little rituals to unwind. "What we simply can’t do – and it’s quite adorable – is sleep when we’re upset with each other. Those little quarrels linger in the air and need to be resolved first. We’re such softies that otherwise, we just lie there staring into the void," he laughs.
